A graduate of Ithaca College, Michael Notebaert is entering his fifth season as Head Baseball Coach at USMMA after serving as an assistant coach for the Mariners in his first two years at the Academy. He was also the assistant coach with Ithaca College's junior varsity squad for the 2003 season.
In his five years at the helm the Mariners have made two trips
to the Landmark Conference Tournament, including a berth in the
2009 Championship Game. In the '09 season USMMA amassed a
program record 22 wins. In 2012, the team posted 21 victories
and placed second in the Landmark Conference standings, the best
finish in program history.
At the high school level, Notebaert was the assistant coach of the
junior varsity baseball team at Geneva High School for three
seasons from 2001-03 and then served as the assistant coach and
hitting instructor for the varsity softball team from 2004-06. He
helped guide the baseball team to the league championship all three
seasons in his role as an assistant coach. During his tenure as a
varsity softball coach, Notebaert helped lead the Geneva Panthers
to a Class A No. 7 ranking in the state of New York in 2005.
Notebaert is also one of the Academy's facilities, equipment and
events coordinators. He is responsible for football equipment and
event management at home sporting events during the fall and winter
seasons.
Notebaert just recently completed his MBA in Leadership &
Management at Dowling College. He now resides with his wife,
Veronica, and son, Andrew, in East Meadow, N.Y.
