Hartmann ’14, Collins ’14 And May ’09 Named To Landmark All-Decade Baseball Team

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 25, 2017) – Earlier this month, the Landmark Conference announced that three former U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball student-athletes were named to the league's All-Decade Team – Warren Hartmann '14, Danny Collins '14 and Davey May '09.

Hartmann was a three-time All-Landmark First Team selection at second base for USMMA and was named the conference's Player of the Year in 2013. The Wyckoff, N.J., native was selected as an All-American by both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) (First Team) and D3Baseball.com (Third Team) after his senior year in 2014. Additionally he earned ABCA First Team All- New York Region honors in both 2013 and 2014 and D3Baseball.com First Team All-New York Region honors in 2014. He played in 137 games with 206 hits, 122 RBI, 47 doubles, nine triples, 10 homeruns, and a career batting average of .393. Hartmann ranks in the top three in program history in numerous offensive categories – first in hits, doubles, runs and stolen bases; second in batting average; and third in RBIs. Hartmann was the Academy's 2013 Stedman Trophy winner.
 
Collins was a two-time All-Landmark First Team selection as a shortstop for the Mariners in 2013 and 2014 and was named to the Second Team in 2012. The Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., native earned All-New York Region First Team Honors from both the ABCA and D3Baseball.com after his senior season in 2014. He was also named to the Landmark Academic Honor Roll in 2012 and 2013 and earned a spot on the prestigious CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America Third-Team in 2013. Collins played in 139 games for USMMA where he had 196 hits, 139 RBI, 35 doubles, seven triples, 15 homeruns, and a career batting average of .376. He ranks in the top three in program history in numerous offensive categories – first in RBIs; second in hits, runs and stolen bases; and third in doubles.
 
Davey May earned a spot on the All-Landmark First Team as an outfielder in 2009. In the Lutz, Fla., native's one season in the conference, he had 64 hits, 57 RBI, four doubles, four triples, 14 homeruns and a batting average of .463. He was selected as a D3Baseball.com First Team All-American after his senior season in 2009. May finished his career with a .387 batting average with 133 hits, 19 home runs, 109 RBIs and a .648 slugging percentage. He ranks in the top five in program history in numerous offensive categories – first in home runs and slugging percentage; third in batting average; fourth in RBIs; and fifth in hits. May was the Academy's 2009 Stedman Trophy winner.
