KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 11, 2017) – On Monday night, the Skyline Conference announced that USMMA freshman Wyatt Wilson (Chandler, Ariz.) was named the league's baseball Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 9. The honor comes after Wilson's performances in the Mariners' six Skyline games last week, in which the squad went 3-3.
Additionally, on Tuesday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced that Wilson was selected as the DIII Metro Rookie of the Week.
Wilson tied for the team lead with a .500 batting average last week, going 13-for-26 from the dish over the six game with two doubles. The #2 hitter knocked in six runs and scored five times to go along with two stolen bases. He currently ranks third in the Skyline Conference with 33 hits on the season.
