Mariners Fall To St. Joseph’s Of Brooklyn Thursday In Home-Finale
The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team lost its home-finale to visiting St. Joseph’s of Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon on Lower Roosevelt Field by the final score of 9-1. The Mariners’ record drops to 12-16 overall, while the Bears improve to 14-15.

Baseball Salvages Last Game Of Series At Catholic, 2-1
On Sunday, the USMMA baseball team won its last game of a three-game series at Catholic by the final score of 2-1. The Mariners end their six-game losing skid with the victory and improve to 12-15 (7-11 Landmark), while the host Cardinals fall to 18-11-1 (9-9 Landmark).

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team was swept in a Landmark Conference doubleheader on Saturday down at The Catholic University of America, dropping the first game by the final of 4-2, before losing the second game, 6-5.

On Wednesday night, the USMMA baseball team lost a non-conference game at the College of Staten Island by the final score of 11-5. In defeat, the Mariners fall to 11-13 overall, while the Dolphins improve to 14-9.

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team dropped its series-finale against Elizabethtown College, 20-5, on Sunday afternoon at Lower Roosevelt Field. The Mariners fall to 11-12 (6-9 Landmark) in defeat, while the Blue Jays improve to 19-9 (10-5 Landmark).

Baseball Swept By E-Town Saturday Afternoon
The USMMA baseball team lost both games of a home Landmark Conference doubleheader against Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon at Lower Roosevelt Field, dropping game one 7-2 before losing the second game by the final of 14-4. The Mariners’ record moves to an even 11-11 overall (6-8 Landmark), while the Blue Jays improve to 18-9 (9-5 Landmark).

Mariners One-Hit St. Joseph’s-L.I. In 14-0 Road Win Thursday
On Thursday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team took on non-conference opponent St. Joseph’s of Long Island at the Golden Eagles’ Gregg Alfano Field. Three Mariner pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout and USMMA scored 14 runs on 14 hits for the 14-0 victory. With the win, Merchant Marine improves to 11-9, while St. Joe’s falls to 9-9.

The USMMA baseball team lost the third and final game of a key series against the University of Scranton, 16-10, on Monday afternoon at Lower Roosevelt Field. The loss drops the Mariners to 10-9 (6-6 Landmark) on the season, while the Royals improve to 9-11 (7-5 Landmark).

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy finally played its home-opener on Wednesday, defeating non-conference foe the College of Mount St. Vincent, 9-8, in eight innings at Lower Roosevelt Field. The game was called in the top of the ninth inning due to darkness. The Mariners improve to 8-7 overall on the year, while the Dolphins fall to 4-11.

The Mariners fall to an even 7-7 overall (5-4 Landmark) on the season, while the Crusaders improve to 9-7 (6-2 Landmark).

Rangers Score Three In Top Of The Ninth To Top Mariners, 5-4
The USMMA baseball team lost its Landmark series-finale to Drew University, 5-4, on Monday night out at Baseball Heaven. The Mariners led 4-2 going into the last inning, but the Rangers scored three times in the top of the ninth to take the lead and eventually held off Merchant Marine in the bottom for the victory.

Sithong Earns Second Straight Landmark Baseball Athlete Of The Week Honor
The Landmark Conference announced on Monday that USMMA freshman Jacob Sithong (Orlando, Fla.) was named the Baseball Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. The honor comes after the rookie helped lead the Mariners to a 3-0 week with a non-conference road win over Baruch on Tuesday and a doubleheader sweep over league foe Drew on Sunday.

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team swept Drew University in a Landmark doubleheader on Sunday out at Baseball Heaven in Suffolk County, taking the first game by the final of 3-2 before winning the second on a walk-off in extra innings, 9-8, in eight.

The late winter snow storm that hit the Metropolitan Area yesterday has forced the USMMA baseball game against Drew that was scheduled for 5 p.m. to be postponed. The storm dumped nearly seven inches of snow in parts of Suffolk County, where the game was supposed to be played at Baseball Heaven.

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team won its first game played in its home state on Wednesday, a road contest against Baruch College at MCU Park in Coney Island. The Mariners outlasted the Bearcats, 11-8, on a very windy day and improve their record to 5-3, while Baruch falls to 3-8.

The USMMA baseball team opened Landmark Conference action with a three-game series sweep over Juniata College over the past two days in the Mariners’ last bit of action down at the 2015 Gene Cusic Classic in sunny Florida. Merchant Marine’s record improves to 4-3 over (3-0 Landmark), while the Eagles fall to 4-4 (0-3 Landmark).

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team captured its first win of the 2015 season on Wednesday, earning a 13-11 victory in eight innings in a sloppy game against Illinois College.

Mariners Fall To Coast Guard, 6-3, To Close Out Three-Game Series
On Monday morning, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team finished its season-opening three-game series against rival Coast Guard down in Florida with a 6-2 loss. The Mariners’ record falls to 0-3 on the young season, while the Bears improve to 4-0.

The USMMA baseball season-opener against Purchase College that was scheduled for today, Wednesday, Feb. 25, has been postponed due to the frigid temperatures and unplayable field conditions at Purchase in nearby Westchester County, N.Y. No make-up date has been announced at this point.
