WEST POINT, N.Y. (May 7, 2026) – The USMMA men's track and field team competed Thursday afternoon at the West Point Twilight hosted by Army at Shea Stadium. The Mariners put up six top-10 finishes and eight personal bests at the event.

Freshman Mackay Minter (Townsend, Ga.) led the Blue and Gray with two top 10 finishes on the afternoon, placing sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.03 and ninth in the 200 meters in 22.76. Classmate Gage Holub (Mount Vernon, Iowa) registered a personal-best time of 14.96 in the 110 meter hurdles.

Freshman JP Park (Falling Waters, W.Va.) also posted a 10th place finish and PR'ed in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line with a time of 51.94.

Senior Silas Glynn (Folsom, Calif.) posted a personal-best time of 1:56.41 in the 800 meters. Sophomore Ethan Alliot (Sheridan, Wyo.) finished ninth in the 5,000 meters with a personal best in 16:26.21. Senior Luke Zwiesler (Colbert, Wash.) turned in a personal-best performance in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:55.39. Freshman Cooper Johnson (Honolulu, Hawaii) also had a personal best in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:08.98.

Senior Aidan Berry (San Antonio, Texas) had a personal-best toss of 39.43m (129' 4") in the hammer throw, while sophomore Garrett Rees (Rising Sun, Md.) posted a personal-best throw in the discus of 43.60m (143' 0"). Senior Ben Rini (Vermilion, Ohio) also added an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 14.68m (48' 2").

Merchant Marine returns to action on Monday, May 11, at the Widener Final Qualifier at 11 a.m. in Chester, Pa.
