STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Dec. 12, 2025) –  Freshman Mackay Minter (Townsend, Ga.) broke a 14-year old school record in the 300 meters, and senior Luke Zwiesler (Colbert, Wash.) registered a top 10 finish to lead the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's track and field team at the Wagner Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Minter etched his name into the Mariner record books, setting a new Academy record in the 300 meters with a personal best time of 36.73. His time broke the previous mark of 37.35 held by Brandon Barrett since 2011. Minter also matched his personal best in the 60-meter dash, clocking in with a time of 7.35.
Zwiesler recorded a sixth-place finish in the men's mile with a personal-best time of 4:24.11 while adding another in the men's 3000 meters, crossing the tape in 8:50.06.
Merchant Marine returns to competition on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the West Point Invitational, with the meet scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
