Jimmy Robertson entered his second season as Head Coach of the United States Merchant Marine Academy Tennis Program in 2015. He has been at the Academy since August 2011 as an Assistant Football Coach (Quarterbacks Coach 2012-Present; Wide Receivers Coach 2011).

The 2014 tennis season, Robertson’s first at the helm, saw a plus-three win improvement for the team, led by Freshman James Hicks who earned First Team All-Landmark Conference Honors. Hicks and classmate Geri Villan were honored as USMMA Athletics Male and Female Rookies of the Year respectively at years end.

Prior to joining USMMA, Robertson played in the German Football League (GFL) for the Plattling Blackhawks in 2009 and 2010. He previously served as Assistant Quarterbacks Coach at his alma mater, RPI, during the 2009 season while obtaining his M.S. Degree in Management.  Along with his M.S. Degree in Management from RPI, Robertson also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in Business and Management from RPI in 2009. He minored in Sports Psychology.

During his time at RPI he was a four-year starting quarterback and served as team captain for two seasons. He helped lead RPI to the 2007 Liberty League Championship and an NCAA playoff appearance as well as ECAC Bowl Championships in 2005, 2006, and 2008. He was the Liberty League Player of the Year in 2008 and Liberty League Rookie of the Year in 2005, while garnering all-league accolades in each season.

Robertson is a native of Yonkers, N.Y., and currently resides in Harrison, N.Y., with his wife Kristen.
